The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. I find that it is not the circumstances in which we are placed, but the spirit in which we face them, that constitutes our comfort. There is no cosmetic for beauty like happiness. For a long time it seemed to me that real life was about to begin, but there was always some obstacle in the way. Something had to be got through first, some unfinished business; time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life. People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be. Happiness is not having what you want.  It is wanting what you have. There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
